Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asserted on Tuesday that as each phase of the Lok Sabha polls concludes, the trajectory becomes increasingly evident: the Narendra Modi administration is on the verge of departure, while the INDIA bloc is poised to assume power on June 4.
During a virtual press briefing, Kejriwal emphasized that the INDIA bloc is committed to delivering a steady and reliable government to the nation.
“As we progress through each electoral phase, the impending departure of the Modi government becomes more apparent, with the INDIA bloc set to ascend to power on June 4,” he remarked.
Kejriwal alleged that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed derogatory remarks towards him during their election rallies in Delhi on Monday.
Directing his criticism towards Shah, Kejriwal stated, “Your designation as the prime minister’s successor seems to have inflated your sense of entitlement. Remember, you have yet to assume the role of prime minister.”
He continued, “You claimed that Kejriwal lacks support within India and enjoys more backing in Pakistan. While you’re entitled to criticize me, refrain from disparaging the citizens of our nation. Such disrespect towards the public will not be tolerated.”
Kejriwal’s rebuttal was prompted by Shah’s remarks made during a rally the day before, while campaigning for his party’s candidate in the South Delhi constituency, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri.
“Kejriwal and Rahul (Gandhi) lack support within India; their supporters reside in Pakistan,” Shah had asserted during his address.
